Borofutus Hosen & Zhu L. Yang 2012 Type species: Borofutus dhakanus Hosen & Zhu L. Yang, Fungal Diversity 58: 220 (2012) Description. Basidiomata epigeous, stipitate-pileate with tubular hymenophore. Cap convex to sub-planate, center navel to umbilicate, depressed, grayish black, grayish brown to dark brown. Hymenophore alveolate, white to cream colored when young, yellowish to golden brown when mature, pores up to 3 mm wide. Stipe central, solid, covered with grayish to brown scabrous squamules, longitudinal striations present partly from top of the stipe, basal part covered with whitish mycelia. Context of pileus and stipe pallid to light yellowish, unchanged color when cut. Basidiospores boletoid, ellipsoid to fusiform, brown to deep brown to reddish brown when deposit, with purple tinge in 5% KOH, slightly thick-walled, smooth under light microscope (LM) but with regular to irregular shallow pitted ornamentation under SEM. Cheilocystidia, pleurocystidia and caulocystidia present. Pileipellis trichoderm.
