Habitat:

Solitary, growing under Dipterocarpaceae forest.

Description:

Fruit body medium. Pileus 60-100 mm in diam, broadly convex to more or less applanate with a short central umbo depress at mature, moderate olive brown to dark greyish yellow, no change after bruising; surface unequal, dry, smooth; margin unequal, same as pileus colour, cracked, non-striate, sometimes slightly uplifted; context thin toward margin, white, unchanged after exposed with air. Lamellae free, regular, white; edge even to slightly wavy, concolorus, lamellulae 2-3 in a series. Stipe 100-120 × 10-15 mm, central, tapering toward pileus, some times more or less equal, base bulbous, greenish white, surface covered with squamules, fibrous, easily pilled out, context solid, white, unchanged after exposed with air. Annulus apical, skirt like, white, fragile. Volva limbate, white to off white at outer surface, white in inner surface, Odour unknown, Spore print not recorded. Basidiospores 6.3-10.0 × 5.0-8.2 µm, Q = 1.18-1.36, ellipsoid to broadly ellipsoid, thin walled, smooth, hyaline, I-gutta, apiculus prominent, 1.25-2.0 µm. Basidia 34.0-47.5 × 7.5-10 µm, clavate to sub-clavate, sometime sub-cylindrical, thin walled, hyaline, oil granules present when viewed with KOH, base connected with globose to sub-globose cells, 4-spored, sterigmata 2.5-4.0 µm long, cylindrical. Lamellae edge sterile. Lamellae trama bilateral, divergent. Lamellae context composed with parallel arranged hyphae, 30-45 µm in diam, hyphae 2.5-7.5 µm wide, thin walled, hyaline, branched, septate. Sub-hymnium composed with ellipsoidal cells, 48-100 × 10-15 µm, thin walled, hyaline. Hymenium composed with sub-globose to globose cells, 2-3 in layers, 10-37 × 8-32 µm, thin walled. Pileipellis composed with erect to suberect hyphae, tightly arranged, 2.5-8.75 µm wide, thin walled, hyaline, branched, septate, hyphal end obtuse. Stipitipellis composed with tightly arranged hyphae, 2.0-6.75 µm wide, thin walled, hyaline, branched, septate. Volva in stipe base; outer layer composed with hyphae and globose to sub-globose cells; hyphae 1.5-6.75 µm wide, thin walled, hyaline, branched, septate; globose to sub-globose cells 30-73 × 25-62 µm, abundant, thin walled, hyaline; inner layer same as outer layer but globose and sub-globose cells not so frequent. Annulus composed with hyphae, 2.5-5.0 µm wide, thin walled, hyaline, branched, septate, hyphal end becoming clavate to sub-clavate or cylindrical, 15-38 × 10-35 µm. Clamp connection absent in all tissues.
