Description:
Basidiomata. Pileus 45–90 mm wide, hemispherical at first then plano-convex to concave, strong orange yellow or vivid yellow over centre, vivid yellow to brilliant yellow toward margin, slightly depressed at centre, dry and smooth surface, shiny appearance. Lamellae pale yellow, close to crowded. Stipe 60–110 × 9–13 mm, pale yellow upward, yellow white to white toward, narrowing upward or cylindric, fibrillose; context white, unchanging when cut or bruised, fistulose. Volva 1–3 mm thick, yellow white to white. Basidiospores 7–10 × 6–7 μm, broadly ellipsoid to globose or subglobose, hyaline, thin-walled, smooth. Basidia 45–55 × 9–10 μm, sterigmata 1–2 μm long, thin-walled, clavate shape, hyaline. Cheilocystidia 25–50 × 10–20 μm, clavate or fusoid shaped, hyaline thin-walled. Pileipellis 2–25 μm thick, branched, septate, hyaline to pale yellow. Stipitipellis 2–32.5 µm thick, hyaline to pale yellow, branch, septate. Clamp connections absent.
