Habitat:

Solitary, growing under mixed deciduous forest.


Description:

Fruit body small to medium size. Pileus 38 mm in diam, convex to plano-convex or infundibuliform at mature, greyish brown to brownish grey, slightly dark at centre; surface cover with squamous or patch, grey to brown, easily removed out, dry, margin uplifted, smooth, non-striate, context 2-5 mm wide, thinner toward margin, white, unchanged when exposed with air. Lamellae adnate to slightly duccrent, regular, crowded, white; edge even, concolorus, lamellulae several. Stipe 39 × 13-20 mm, central, tapering toward pileus, white; surface fibrillose, brown to greyish brown, base bulbous. Annulus membranous, skirt like. Volva not recorded. Odour unknown. Spores print white. Basidiospores 6.8-8.8 × 4.5-6.3 µm, Q = 1.2-1.5, broadly ellipsoid to ellipsoid, thin walled, hyaline, smooth, colourless to slightly yellowish, I-gutta, apiculus prominent 1.2-2.0 µm long, amyloid. Basidia 25.0-37.0 × 7.5-11.3 µm, clavate to sub-clavate, thin walled, hyaline, oil granules present with KOH, 4-spored, sterigmata 1.3-3.0 µm long, cylindrical. Lamellae edge sterile. Lamellae trama bilateral, divergent; cortex composed with hyphae, 25-33 µm thick, hyphae 2.0-4.4 µm wide, thin walled, hyaline, branched, septate. Sub-hymenial composed with ellipsoidal cells, thin walled, hyaline. Hymenium composed with globose to sub-globose cells, 7.5-17.5 × 7.0-14.0 µm, 2-3 layers, thin walled, hyaline. Plieipellis composed with tightly arranged hyphae, 2.5-5.0 µm wide, thin walled, hyaline, branched, septate; universal vail composed with hyphae, 2.0-5.0 µm wide, thin walled, hyaline, hyphal end globose to sub-globose or clavate, 12.5-37.5 × 10.0-32.5 µm. Stipitipellis more or less similar to pilepilles. Clamp connections absent.
