Description:
Mycelium covering whole 
host body, cottony tomentose, white to light yellow. 
Perithecia superficial, almost covered with cottony white hyphal tissue, ovoid, 410–480 × 270–300 μm. 
Asci cylindrical, 160–175 × 5–6 μm. 
Ascospores fusiform, 20–30 × 4–5 μm with 8 septa.
Culture characteristics:

Colony on PDA attaining a diam of 8–12 mm in 7 d. Colonies compact with white mycelium, reverse uncolored. Vegetative hyphae hyaline, smooth-walled. Conidiogrnous cells arising from vegetative hyphae, cylindrical or with inflated base, slightly tapering in the distal part, 3.5–20 × 1–1.5 μm. 
Conidia hyaline, smooth, globose, 1.5–2 μm diam, rarely ovoid, 3.5 μm long, aggregated in slimy heads.
