Description:
Basidiomata 10–70 mm broad, flabelliform to shell-shaped, thin, sessile. Pileus surface initially villose to finely tomentose or glabrous, soon becoming smoother with age; zonation conspicuous, concentric, with coloration variable from dark orange to moderate yellowish brow; surface sometimes overgrown with algae, imparting a greenish tint. Context very thin, coriaceous to tough, inedible, lacking any distinctive odor. Stipe absent. Hymenophore smooth (non-poroid), even, coloration white to grey or reddish-brown. Spore print white. Basidiospores 5.5–7.5 × 2–3 µm, hyaline, smooth, cylindrical to narrowly ellipsoid.
