Underside of dicotyledonous leaves, bamboo leaves.
Host:
On scale insect nymphs (Hemiptera).
Description:
Stroma usually very flattened discoid, white to pale yellow, up to 4 mm diam. Perithecia clustered, superficial, elongated ovoid, hyaline yellow, 500–650 × 300–400 μm. Asci cylindrical, up to 550 μm long, 5–7.5 μm diam, with cap 3–5 μm thick. Ascospores hyaline, filiform, dissociating into 32 part-spores, cylindrical, 12.5–17.5 × 2–3 μm.
Culture characteristics:
This is a fastidious species, cannot be cultured.
