Holotype:
THAILAND, Chumphon Province, Phato Watershed Conservation and Management Unit, 9 Mar. 2009, A. Khonsanit, K. Sansatchanon, P. Srikitikulchai, K. Tasanathai, D. Thanakitpipattana, holotype BBH 30397, ex-type living culture BCC 47574.
Habitat:
Underside of dicotyledonous leaves.
Host:
Whitefly nymphs (Hemiptera).
Description:
Sexual morph: stroma flattened pulvinate, white, pale yellow to orange, 2-6 mm diam; tubercles arising from a thin pulvinate base, separated from one another, located at the margin and the center. Tubercles cylindrical, 450-700 mm in height, 320-550 μm diam.
Perithecium developing singly in a tubercle, flask-shaped, 580-600 μm in height, 380-400 μm diam.
Asci cylindrical, 290-380 × 14-16 μm, with cap approx. 5-7 μm thick.
Ascospores disarticulating into part-spores inside the ascus, which are narrowly cylindrical with somewhat rounded ends, 6-2.5 × 1.5-4 μm.
Asexual morph: stroma white, flattened pulvinate, very thin, 2-6 μm diam, 0.5-0.8 μm thick.
Conidioma is widely open, orifice circular, base surrounded by white, thin mycelium, 180-300 × 130-170 μm, circular or ovoid with orange conidial masses.
Conidiogenous cells cylindrical, up to 23 μm long, 1-2 μm wide. Conidia fusoid, tapering slightly toward the ends, 16-22 × 2-3 μm.
Paraphyses present, linear, filiform, up to 140 μm long, 1-2 μm wide.
Culture characteristics:
Colonies on PDA approx. 5 mm diam after 4 wk. The stromatic colonies derived from germinating ascospores or conidia formed a compact mycelium. The conidial mass was produced on the margin of the stromatic colonies after 4 wk, and the coloration varied from yellow to reddish orange.
