Description:
Fruitbody annual, solitary or in small groups, centrally or laterally stipitate and usually infundibuliform.
Pileus up to 6.5 mm in diameter and 1–3 mm thick, glabrous and shiny when fresh, more dull when dry, yellowish-brown in numerous narrow concentric zones, often with alternating dark and light colours, margin thin and wavy. Stipe round, glabrous, covered with a thin, light yellowish to light brown cuticle, up to 40 mm high and 2–8 mm in diameter, slightly expanded upwards, and expanded to a disclike base up to 10 mm in diameter. Pore surface cream to pale yellowish, almost pure white towards the margin, pores entire and very minute, almost invisible to the naked eye 8–10 per mm, tubes up to 0.1 mm deep. Context white, very thin and covered with a distinct cuticle. Hyphal system trimitic, generative hyphae thin-walled and with clamps, 2–4 µm in diameter, moderately branched, skeletal hyphae dominating, hyaline and thick-walled, up to 6 µm in diameter, binding hyphae tortuous and mostly broken in preparations, thick-walled to apparently solid, up to 1–4 µm in diameter, strongly coralloid dichophytic elements often present along the dissepiment. Basidiospore hyaline, cylindrical.
