Habitat:
Underside of a dicotyledonous leaf.
Host:
On Miagrammopes sp.
Description:
Spider host covered by yellowish white to cream mycelial mat.
Synnema solitary, brownish white.
Conidiophores 100–175 × 5–7.5 µm.
Conidial heads spherical, 32–50 µm diam. Vesicles globose to subglobose, 5–7 µm bearing multiple metulae. Metulae broadly obovoid, 5–7 × 4–5 µm. Phialides borne on metulae, cylindrical to narrow clavate with a short neck, hyaline, 6.5–8.5 × 1.5–3 µm. Conidia hyaline, broadly fusiform, smooth, single or in chains, 3–5 × 1.5 µm. Granulomanous synasexual morph present, well differentiated, forming aspergillus-like conidiophores. Conidiophores cylindrical, septate, verrucose, 70–157.5 × 7.5–11 µm. Vesicles well developed, often absent, globose to subglobose, smooth-walled, 4.5–7 µm. Multiple metulae borne on a vesicle, occasionally hardly developed, broadly obovoid, smooth-walled, 6–7 × 4–6 µm. Phialides narrowly clavate to irregularly shaped, apically thickened often with a short neck, or cylindrical bearing 1–3 denticles at the apices, smooth-walled, or irregularly shaped, polyblastic, distinctly verrucose, 6–11 × 2.5–4 µm. Conidia filiform, smooth, hyaline, 10–15 × 1–1.5 µm. Conidial head spherical, formed by a vesicle, several metulae and phialides, 37–59 µm.
Perithecia produced on the mycelial mat covering the body of the spider, absent on its legs, superficial with mycelia covering the bottom two-thirds of the perithecium, ovoid narrowing towards the ostiole, reddish-brown, 640–700 × 280–310 µm.
Asci cylindrical, up to 688 µm long, 5–8 µm wide. Asci caps, 4–7 × 6.5–8.5 µm.
Ascospores filiform, multiseptate, arranged in parallel rows, breaking into bacilliform part-spores, 5–12 × 1.5–2 µm.
Culture characteristics:
Colonies on PDA attaining a diam of 2 cm in 20 d at 25 °C, white, floccose; reverse cream, becoming light brown with age at the centre.
