Description:
Basidiomata annual, sessile, broadly adnate, frequently confluent, with a hard corky consistency. Pilei solitary, flabelliform to shell-shaped, reaching up to 7.5 cm in diameter and 6 mm thick. Pileal surface reddish-brown toward the base, becoming yellowish-brown at the disc, fading to buff near the margin; surface laccate, glabrous, conspicuously zonate with broad concentric furrows and faint to distinct radial striations; margin obtuse, entire, often undulate upon drying. Pore surface white to greyish-white when fresh, bruising darker, becoming pale wood-brown to greyish-brown when desiccated; pores circular to subangular, 5–6 per mm; dissepiments moderately thick, entire.
