Holotype:
THAILAND, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, Khao Yai National Park, 31 May 2018, J.J. Luangsa-ard, K. Tasanathai, S. Mongkolsamrit, W.Noisripoom, holotype BBH 47459, ex-type living culture BCC 88269.
Habitat:
Buried in decaying wood.
Host:
Coleopteran larva.
Description:
Stromata multiple, unbranched, 5–6 mm long and 1.5–2 mm broad, cream to pale orange, cylindrical to enlarging apically. Rhizoids flexuous arising from the thorax and abdomen of coleopteran larva buried in decaying wood, 5 mm deep. Fertile part orange yellow, subglobose, 1.5–2 mm long, 1.5 mm broad.
Perithecia semi-immersed, narrowly ovoid, 400–500 × 200–280 μm.
Asci cylindrical, 8-spored, up to 340 × 4–5 μm, with cap, 3–4 μm thick.
Ascospores hyaline, filiform, multi-septate, 135–315 × 1 μm. Anamorph: Two types of conidial arrangement: acremonium-like, conidia aggregated in heads at the apex of phialides; mariannaea-like, conidia in imbricate chains, connected to each other laterally.
Culture characteristics:
Colony on PDA attaining a diam of 25 mm in 10 d, cottony with high mycelium density, white, powdery after 30 d. Phialides arising from aerial hyphae, solitary or in whorls of two to five on each branch, gradually tapering from the base to the apex, 8–25 × 1–2 μm. Conidia hyaline, oblong-elliptical, smooth, one-celled, 3–6 × 1–2 μm.
