Description:
Stromata epibiotic, pulvinate, subglobose, hemispherical, upper surface white to yellowish white; lower surface strong orange, 1-7 mm wide.
Perithecia semi-immersed, crowded, obclavate, 170-340 × 60-110 μm.
Asci cylindrical, 129-175 × 3-6 μm. Asci caps 1-2 × 2.5-4 μm.
Ascospores hyaline, whole, filiform, aseptate, 131-216 × 0.5 μm.
Culture characteristics:
Colony on PDA attaining a diam of 4 cm in 20 d, fluffy in the middle, flat to umbonate, white in the middle, pale orange yellow, light yellow, brilliant yellow, reverse moderate orange in the middle, strong orange yellow, light yellow. Phialides arising from aerial hyphae, solitary, cylindrical, slightly curved, 30–294 × 1–2 μm. Conidia hyaline, enteroblastic, fusiform to acerose, cylindrical, early in development aseptate, becoming 1–4 septa, aggregated at the apex of the phialides, 5–27 × 2–4 μm.
